Your MOST powerful tool

Have you ever found that you might be constantly trying to “fix yourself”? I definitely used to! For most of my life, I had an attitude of fixing myself. I’ve known this for some time, and I’ve observed that my internal attitude towards most things is to try to make them better. I am constantly looking at what I need to improve. On any given day, I might be looking at what needs to improve in my health, my weight, my fitness,…

Practicing Emotional Hygiene

Last week I wrote about the possibility of our emotions having an impact on our physical health. I shared how Chinese Medicine draws direct correlations between organs that seem to be affected by difficult emotions, especially when these emotions are repressed. All of these questions speak of the connection between eating and our moods. Indeed, food and mood are strongly tied together. We more often notice that we crave a certain food because we are in a given mood (i.e. needing comfort food) but the deeper truth is that what you eat will affect your moods….

Boosting Immunity: No-Flu Season

On the Today show this morning, a well-intentioned pediatrician advised moms to get all kids vaccinated for the flu. She suggested that they get the flu vaccine, plus the swine flu vaccine along with whatever other vaccines they are scheduled for. She said it was important to “not get off schedule.” It got me wondering, how did we get to a place where we automatically assume that to have healthy kids it must be through vaccines? What happened to naturally…
